Sloppy Corn
Chance and Logan spent the night with Grandma Kay Friday night. I guess in one conversation Grandma told Chance she was going to fix Sunday dinner. She asked Chance what do you want Grandma to fix? Chance says "I don't care as long as you make Sloppy Corn." Grandma chuckled and figured out later Sloppy Corn is Cream Corn. Chance is our little corn boy he loves any kind of corn. He really enjoys corn on the cob fresh from our garden in the summer. He's missing a front tooth and the other one is pretty loose so I don't know how he will fair this summer. Thought that was pretty cute so I had to share.
Spring Break
We are so excited for this week. SPRING BREAK. It's been a long time coming. Chance was getting kind of burnt out with school, so he deserves a week break. We have nothing big planned just hang out here at home. Hoping for some warm weather so we can all play outside. Needs to be pretty nice for Dakota to be able to enjoy sometime outside too. Logan is going to enjoy having someone to play with. I try to play with him but he just bosses me around. I guess I don't know how to play and he will tell me so. Hope everyone has a good break.

Take A Nap At Work
Logan has this habbit of going to bed really late and wanting to get up really really early. The kid hate's to sleep. At 10:00 last night he comes to the living room and asks me, "can I tell you sompin' " I said "yes Logan what is it," he said "mommy I hate to go to bed." And its true he hates to go to bed. Well he was up at 4 AM this morning wide awake. Told Ray he needed to frow up. Ray said get to the bathroom. Well he never frowed up. He layed in Ray's chair and never did go back to sleep. Don't think Daddy did either. Ray told him this mornig, "Logan you got me up too early. I have to work today and I'm going to be tired." Logan tells Ray well "take a nap there." DUH Daddy!! Just Take A Nap At Work.

A Little Off The Edges
Last time we did haircuts Logan detested it. No way was he going to get a haircut. Tonight he was ready so I didn’t hesitate. I am pretty sure he thought he would get to take a bath in Mommy’s big bath tub. That didn’t happen. I usually make them shower not take a bath after a haircut, that way there is no "hair ring" in the tub. Logan has some pretty wild hair. It combs pretty good but as soon as it’s dry it sticks up EVERYWHERE. So we have to keep his short.
I am not a pro as you can tell. I refuse to pay someone to cut their hair. I’m a little rough around the ears but hope that gets better with time.

"Groose Mommy Huh"
I was not so sure I wanted to post this story… but the more I think about it the funnier it gets. Anyone that knows Logan will appreciate it.
Tonight we had a guy over at the house conducting some business. He and Ray were standing in the living room talking hunting and what not. I noticed Logan was looking at one of my mommy books, (it’s a book on lactation.) Anyway I didn’t think too much of it. The guy was paying no attention to him so I didn’t sweat too much. Logan was simply flipping through the pages. I just stepped in front of Logan to keep from being too embarrassed if he found a picture. Anyway the guy left and I turned around and Logan had his little hand over a picture. I asked him what he was looking at and he looked right at me and said in a confident little voice BOOBS. I about died. Sure enough that is what he was looking at. He then proceeded to tell me the mommy in the book didn’t have a shirt on, and “that gross mommy huh“. I realized it was time to put the book away out of sight and out of mind. Don’t want my 3 year old looking at porn. We just kind of laughed it off. Told Ray that’s one of those perks to breastfeeding. The rest of your children get educated. I am going to have to start being more modest. I try but they sure do get curious.
Just thought that would bring a smile to a face or two. Like I said if you know Logan you’ll love the story.

Lessons Taught; Lessons Learned
I guess haveing a blog gives me the right to brag modestly?? I debated posting this and I don't know why. I kind of spaced it till this morning, I want to acknowledge Chance. The other day when I was helping out in his classroom he made me realize he does take in the things Ray tries to teach our boys.
It was nearing the end of the day and the kids were packing their bags with the days work. One little girl grabbed her folder from her cubby and papers went flying everywhere. Chance immediently dropped what he was doing, knelt down by her and helped her pick them all up. What made it more worth while was watching all the other little kids step over both of them instead of helping. I was so proud of him.
Ray is always stressing to the boys to be gentlemen. He's always saying; hold the door for mom, pick that up for mom, say yes mam, don't talk to your mommy that way, don't ever hit girls, and always, always stand up for girls, etc. the list goes on. I am so thankful he stresses respect for girls in our home. He teaches them by his example. It was hard for me when we were dating to let Ray call me Mam (made me feel old) and open my door and all that good stuff. I am now thankful he was and still is this way. I am pampered here at home I'm glad I have by boys to spoil me. Good job Honey, and WAY TO GO CHANCE!!

Three The Same, But Yet So Differant!!
Chance celebrated his 100th day of school. The school made a big deal out of it, the kids loved it. We had parent teacher conference on February 10th, got good reports on Chance. He is doing really well. He is above average or within average on every category. He is reading and does a really good job. They are starting to spell, he loves it. He sees something on TV or anywhere for that matter and he is asking what it spells, or he is sounding it out. He had his Valentine’s Day party on the 12th. I was able to go help Mrs. Valdez that afternoon. As badly as I want to be a teacher I don’t know if I could handle 18 five and six year olds. It was pretty fun. I love to see my kids in other environments. The PTA at La Jara Elementary put in for a grant to fix up the playground. They received the grant and now have to raise $20,000.00 to match funds. The last week in January kids took spare change to school for the “Build a Playground on a Penny” project. The goal was to raise $1,000.00. The kids were able to raise that and then some. The PTA had chili supper and has made donation cans and placed them around the community, feel free to donateJ. Most of the local businesses also made cash donations. We are in high hopes to see this come to pass. I
t is going to become a community thing. It will be open to the public and become a town Sports and Play Complex I guess. We are pretty excited and hope we are able to get it finished in time for school next year. It will also include a fenced playground which we don’t have along the back side so it’s a worry. It will better the football and baseball fields that are pre existing.
Logan is Logan, what more can I say. He is going to keep me busy. Last week Ray spent ½ a day with the boys while I attended Aunt Lizzy’s funeral. The boys were playing outside, Logan ended not only falling in the mud but rolling in it. He came in the back door into the laundry room and Ray heard Chance say “O YOU ARE GOING TO BE IN BIG TROUBLE.” Ray dreadfully walked to the laundry room, found Logan height on the wall and the washer and dryer mud caked all over. Guess he just rolled against the wall (I would have loved a picture.) Apparently it was pretty thick all over. Good think daddy had it cleaned up before mommy got home. Ray said it took quite a few buckets of water to get it all cleaned up. My laundry room walls have not been washed and look great!! Thanks Ray. My mom always said. “When they do something you could beat them for, take a picture you’ll laugh at it later.” I have found this is very true. By the time you get a camera you can laugh at it. Just today I was nursing Dakota and Logan wanted some milk. I explained to him that he was going to have to wait. He started crying and told me “don’t do this to me.” It was so funny. I never know what is going to come out of his mouth. A couple of weeks ago in Sacrament Meeting, Ray was playing with him and hurt him and Ray asked him are you mad and Logan yells during the sacrament no less YES!! Ray says I’m sorry buddy.. Logan looked up at Ray and tells him.. “NOT SORRY ENOUGH” It was so funny. People that sit by us get entertained. Ray took him out one Sunday and Logan yelled the entire way out NO DADDY NO DADDY. Everyone got a laugh at that. I on the other hand was embarrassed. He is going to be a handful. He is a ton of fun and keeps us laughing. Both he and Chance are very good big brothers to Dakota.
We have finally been able to get Dakota started on his shots. We took him
last Thursday. He was so grouchy the rest of that day and all day Friday. The other two boys were fussy babies anyway so I hardly noticed shots. Dakota has been such a good baby that I was shocked at how fussy they made him. He loves to lie on the floor and watch the ceiling fan or sit in his bouncy chair. He is so happy. Really only fusses when he needs changed or hungry. He is growing so fast. He was three months old yesterday. He weighs 12 lbs 6 oz already and is 23 ¼ inches long. He weighed 6 lbs 10 oz at birth and was 20” long. So he’s gained a good 6 lbs. I wish it would slow down some time is going by so fast. I wish he could stay little. I love having a baby around. He is starting to smile a lot. He coo’s a lot. He really gets vocal when is it watching the ceiling fan. He loves his mommy. I am eating that alive because the other two are daddy’s boys, although Chance is starting to like his mommy more.
As for me, I don’t know if I mentioned this but I am no longer at the Bank. It was hard to not go back but would have been a lot harder to leave Dakota at 6 weeks. I do miss the girls from the Bank but we go visit them often. It was only one day a week but it was one day of adult conversation. I am able to do more this way. Maybe my sisters and I can travel now. HAHA. I am able to help out at the school more don’t have to be tied down with work. I have a lot to do at home. Plenty to keep me busy. I get board some days there is only so much you can clean in a day. Logan is pretty entertaining. Can’t get into anything too big with a baby but we keep busy with the little things.
Ray is working like crazy. The City keeps him busy since his promotion. He works all day and still has work to do when he gets home. Here in about a month his goats are going to start kidding. This is my favorite time. I hate them and cuss them the rest of the time but I love to watch the babies play. He’s keeping his fingers crossed that the weather will stay nice. He has sheds to put up so the goats can move out of the horse shed (I think that is the plan) and a few other odds and ends to do. He would like to get this all done early so he can take the boys and go fishing more. Chance loves to fish and Ray would really like to be able to take him more. Chance has decided to be a professional fishermen when he grows up. I think it is safe to say Ray, Chance and Logan have a serious case of SPRING FEVER.

Done with sickness???
I am with high hopes that we are through the sickness, it's been a long couple of weeks. I have been stuck at home. Ray's mom has been really good to come hang out with the sick kids so I can run to town and get Chance from school just to get out of the house. It is nice just to get out for a minute or two. Although I think I have turned into a home body. I have found I can get a lot done. My house is a lot cleaner and I like that.
I had Dakota back to the Dr. on Friday. The RSV sound in his lungs on the Monday before was gone. Which was a relief, I didn't want to have to sit in one of those tents with anther kid, that is rough stuff. Plus it is scary to have a kid sound like that. Anyway, on Firday the poor little guy was full of mucus and had developed an ear infection. So we got more medicine and an antibiotic this time for the ear infection. He seems to be doing a lot better. Still has a horrid sounding cough but I am sure that will stick till spring.
Logan never got too bad. Like I said, he is too naughty to let much get him down. Wednesday he didn't feel good and layed around and whined a lot but thankfully that was only one day. I had to gear up with extra patience that day. I was exhausted from a fussy baby then to have another kido sick on top of that was tiring. While the baby slept and I could actualy lay him down, I held Logan. He has the same horrid sounding cough, but like I said, I am sure all of them will have that till it warms up some. He is dying to be outside during the day. To him it looks warm but it is still so cold. He loves to be outside so we are so excited for it to get warm. Can't wait for summer.
Chance is feeling good, (other than the cough.) I am in shock about that since he is the one at school with all the germs. He and Ray went ice fishing on Saturday. He had a ball. He caught three fish and a pretty rough looking sunburn. I should have taken pictures of the sun/wind burn but the poor kid was hurting and tired by the time they got home, I'm sure taking his picture was the last thing he wanted. Uncle Clinton took some pictures of him fishing we will have to post. Daddy left our camera home, oops. I think he is going to be our little fishermen. This summer he showed all of us up on the boat. He had his limit long before anyone else. He talked about fishing all day Sunday. Logan had to sit this one out till he is feeling better. Ray felt pretty bad about leaving him.
Ray and I finally got a date night Friday night. I must have been getting mean so Ray decided to get me out of the house. We went grocery shopping (which we were is desperate need of) and ate at Sonic. To us that is a date. A night out with no kids. That was totally fine with me. I was not too sure I wanted to go since the baby was sick but good ol Kay insisted I go. I have to admit it was nice to get out of the house. Then Saturday night after Ray got home from ice fishing we went to the Fireman's Dinner at the Firehouse. The department has a dinner and awards presentation for the firemen every January. It was pretty good. We were only gone about an hour which was good, I was feeling guilty about leaving this sick baby again. Ray's mom has been so good to help out with the kids since they have been sick. I am so thankful I have had her here, not only so I could get out of the house but so I didn't have to take this sick baby out. Thank you Kay!
I guess that is about it for now.
