Proof Reading???

So Professor Ray sat here last night and read my post for Logan's birthday. And found it necessary to point out all my type o's. I guess most places that should have said his said him. I am very sorry! So I have challenged Ray to do our next blog post, we will see how he does. I am not sure what you will get... if you get anything at all. My fingers get going faster than my brain and I don't take the time to proof read so I am going to be better about that. So trash talk to Ray and we will see what he comes up with. By the way RAY, I love you!! But do NOT correct me I DO NOT make mistakes!!!

I Can't Believe You Are 4!!

What can I say about our Logan. There is a lot but where do I start. Over all he is a pretty good kid. He keeps me on my toes because I never know what he is going to say. He is 100% little cowboy! He is extremely hard to shop for, you can't just go to Wal-Mart and buy something cowboy. Everyday he has to wear his cowboy pants, cowboy shirt, (or a camo shirt will do because he seen Ray wear camo archery hunting a couple of weeks ago,) and he has to wear his cowboy boots. If Ray wears his lace up boots Logan has to, if he is wearing his pull on boots Logan has to wear his pull on's. I am sure you have figured out that Logan is a daddy's boy to the max!! Ray goes outside Logan has to go, so a few second walk to the trash dumpster may end up taking Ray 10 minutes by the time Logan gets his glad rags on to go with him. Ray is very patient with Logan and eats up the fact that he's a daddy's boy. I asked him what he wanted for him birthday and he replied with.. um I guess I will just have a real gun!! I think not. He got a barn instead which is right up him alley. Logan is a pretty good big brother. He gets pretty upset when Dakota ends up in the middle of his corral's. He and Chance are most of the time pretty good. When they fight they fight and when they are getting along they can play all day. Next year I am sure I am going to have a fight on my hands. Logan has 0 interest in school. He thinks it would be big of him to go but I am sure it is going to be a huge deal. I don't think he is going to take the separation thing very good. He is with mommy pretty much 24/7 so we will see. We "play" school here at home I have him enrolled in a program called HIPPY (home instruction for parents of preschool youngsters) they bring in materials to help you teach your preschooler so we will see how that goes and tackle pre K when the time comes. We have our primary program Sunday and Logan has him part memorized and ready to go but I am really scared to see what he does. I told him I would buy him a bottle of Pepsi and a candy bar if he says his part but the kid is soooo hard headed (also like his daddy) I don't know if my bribe will work. I am sure I could write some more but I will leave it at that. I like to do a post for the people I love on their birthday's so I figured I better get this done before the day got crazy! Happy Birthday Logan mommy and daddy love you and hope you have a happy birthday!! I will post pictures of him cake later. We are doing a family party on Friday night.

Happy Birthday Tiff

I just wanted to wish my wonderful sister in law a happy birthday. I am so thankful for Tiff. She keeps Robert in line and that alone in a full time job. I look up to her for her dedication in all that she does. I am so happy for her and her accomplishments in school. She is a RN holds a Bachelors of Science degree and graduated from ASC with high honors. She is a very smart and caring person. I am thankful my brother has someone like her to spend eternity with! Now if she (mainly Robert) would get with the program and start on those 7 kids they (mainly Robert) want everything would be good. LOL!! Love you Tiff, hope you have a happy birthday.

First Day of School

Chance all geared up and ready to start class. He kept telling me this morning he was a little creaped out but excited to start school. I can't believe he is in 1st grade. His teacher is Mrs. Niebel, this will be her 13th year teaching 1st grade so I think she may know a little bit about 1st graders. He has one of his best friends in his class and was really excited about that because they were split up last year. Chance is really excited about the new playground too maybe not so much school. I took some pictures of it this morning and will try and post a slideshow soon. Logan had a rough time this morning not sure he wanted Chance to go to school. They have done nothing but fight for two weeks so it's nice to see they still love each other. Every year it is so hard for me to let him go to school, I guess I like knowing what he is doing every second of everyday and knowing he is safe and no one is mean to him. I guess I need to learn to let go some? May as well get used to it there is no way I have the patience or drive to home school my kids.

Ride Em' Cowboy

Friday we were at a friends house and Logan was sitting on her little boy's bike. I told him you better get off of that you don't know how to ride it, and it can tip over. He looked at me with one of those looks and pedaled about 3 turns and put his feet down. In my state of shock my friend said maybe he does. We have never been able to get him to ride his bike with training wheels he just rides his trike with the bigger tires so he don't get stuck on rocks. Anyway we came home took the training wheels off his bike and off he went. He crashed A LOT and only cired the one time his head bounced off a rock. He's a pretty tough kid most of the time, untill you yell at him then the tears come. He's kind of a tender heart I guess. He's pretty proud of himself for riding a "big boy" bike. He's asked me several times "are you so proud of me" Yes Logan I am so proud of you for riding a "big boy" bike.

Teach Them Early

Ray already has the boys started shooting bows. By the time they are old enough to archery hunt they should be pretty good. Chance does pretty good, he's been shooting for a few years now. Santa brought him a new bow for christmas and he's doing pretty good with it. He used to have the red one and has now passed it down to Logan. Logan does not do bad at all. He hits the target, pretty good for an almost 4 year old. They both walk with a little hop in their steps after they hit the target especially Logan he tries to be modest but he's pretty proud. I am so thankful they have a dad that will take time and do things like this with them, I know it means a lot to them and they bug him every night till they go out and shoot.

Happy 9 Months

Where has the time gone? Dakota turned 9 months Saturday! He has not been feeling well the last few days but hope we are on the down hill side of that. He is growing so fast makes his mommy want to cry. He is a mama's boy and I am loving that up. I think I finally have a kid that looks like me too.

This Weather

This is a picture of our pumpkins after a freeze on August (yes August) 9th. I don't ever remember a freeze this early. The boys were a little bumbed (they do the pumpkins on their own, plant, water, pick everything) but seemed to get over it pretty fast when I told them we could buy some to carve for Halloween if this plant didn't make it. There is still a lot of green on it so it may pull out of it. It froze only a few (3 or 4) green bean plants, two leaves one one squash plant and nothing else. I am pretty thankful I know of a few that got wiped totally out. What kind of winter are we in for? I am NOT ready for the cold.

I'm Still A Good Mom

Well after 8 1/2 months, 6 teeth (yes I said 6 four top and two bottom,) and several bites to mommy later Dakota is weaned. It has been very hard and I felt so guilty for a while but think I have gotten past that. It does not make me a bad mom!! I had some health issues I had to address. Mommy has to be taken care of too. He is taking a sippy cup and is as happy as can be. I am so grateful to be blessed with these wonderful little boys, they are my everything (their dad is pretty wonderful too.) Anyway I didn't make it the year but I am pretty proud of myself. It was getting harder and harder to do and he was starting to know where dinner was and that bothers me. So I applaud those of you that can and have gone a full year. It has been about a week and I have not yet been engourged and miserable so maybe I was a short timer anyway. So there ya have it. Thank to all of you that posted your comments I really appreciate it.

So Close but yet so far...

Most people won't care to read this... I just have to vent and for those that have been there I would love love advice. I really thought I could make it a full year this time nursing. I don't know if I can make it I am so discouraged!!! 4 more months and I can be done I am getting a little tired of it, but part of me is not. I really don't nurse that often maybe 5 times a day on a good day. (he eats baby food really well) I don't feel like I have much milk, it is there but I don't get over loaded like you do when you first start nursing. I don't know what is going on maybe I am not a healthy enough person to produce milk. What should I do?? I hate to put Dakota on a bottle for 4 months and then have to take it away. Maybe this is how nursing goes after they start baby food and eating like big people I don't know this is the longest I have ever gone (yea me!!) I am pretty proud of myself. It usually helps me get the weight off but I am starting to gain some and I hear that is normal for breast feeding mothers to gain weight later. I am very frustrated for all you experts please lend your advice it is more than welcome. Please help.

My Garden

I took this picture of our garden three weeks or so ago and I am finally getting around to doing a post about it. (I would take another picture but I have not pulled weeds in a while) It has grown quite a lot since this picture. We got a late start this year due to all our wonderful weather. This first section has corn, cucumbers, tomato, and Zucchini. The second section has turn ups, radish, lettuce, carrots, broccoli, onion, peas, and squash. The end section is all green beans, we are a green bean eating family, except Dakota, he don't seem to be too big on them. In this nice hoop house (thanks Ray) is a watermelon. We thought we would try our hand at it, not going so good. I don't know what the deal is but this is the 2nd plant we had and have not had much luck with it. Maybe next year we can try again. On the other side of the hoop house is the boy's pumpkins they are doing really well. Chance and Logan love this part of the garden, and the peas they love the peas. My peas are now about stomach high and we don't have a single pod so I am not sure what's up with that, hopefully they will put on soon. Hopefully by next year we will have this area all fenced in and looking wonderful (you can see the fencing materials by the hoop house I am pretty sure that is as far as we will get this year.) I do enjoy my garden it is a lot of work but worth it in the long run. I have no idea how to can so I am keeping my fingers crossed that my dad with help me can my green beans. Kay helped me last year but she is working at the video store every day now so I am on my own. Wish me luck.
